Celebrate the 50th anniversary of tour company Butterfield Robinson next summer as the organization’s founders lead six-day bike rides through the pastoral villages and medieval towns of Bavaria, Germany. Co-founders George and Martha Butterfield and Sidney Robinson will guide two groups, completing a journey that was a half-century in the making. Highlights include bike rides through forests, fields and villages, visits to an organic cheese farm, a mountaintop cable car ride and privately guided walk through Salzburg, Austria. Departures begin in Munich and end in Salzburg.
Dates: June 26-July 1 (Sidney Robinson), Sept. 6-11 (George and Martha Butterfield). Other company guides will lead groups on the route on June 12-17, Sept. 4-9, Sept. 18-23.
Price: Rates start at $5,995 per person, includes hotel accommodations, breakfasts, four lunches and dinners, services of guides and support van, special events, entrance fees, use of a customized hybrid or a racing bike with drop bars and gratuities.
