BATE Borisov to meet Spanish Valencia in Champions League match at Dynamo Stadium today.

The Spaniards came to Minsk yesterday. But unlike Bavaria they decided not to hold an evening training. But according to the Eurotournament’s regulations, the guests are obliged to take part in the press conference.

Pavel Kaputsky reports: Striker Roberto Soldado, who for several years played for Real Madrid, came to the press center of the Dynamo Stadium along with the head coach of Valencia Maurucio Pellegrino. Both the coach and the football player looked concentrated, as if their thoughts were already focused on the game.
(Mauricio Pellegrino, head coach of FC “Valencia” (Spain): “In fact, Valencia haven’ won away games for a long time, even before I became the head coach. We must finally change that. BATE won their matches deservedly. The game will put everything in its place”.)
The day before BATE held a training session at the club’s base in Dudinka. The major problem of the coach Viktor Goncharenko is who should be included in the main team. All the players are healthy and in great shape. Tactically BATE is also well prepared for the match with Valencia.

Full house is expected at the stadium tonight. Fans believe in the team, bookmakers find BATE’s victory conceivable, but the role of a favorite is still assigned to the guests. To pinion the bats’ wings (Valencia is sometimes called like that) is the problem BATE can cope with. The only thing that should not be counted upon is underestimation on the part of the Spaniards. Borisov BATE enjoys enough respect in Europe to be underestimated. The team gained two victories in two Champions League matches. Victory over Valencia will almost guarantee the Belarusian club another historic achievement – becoming one of the 16 best teams on the continent. Live broadcast of the match will start at 21:35 on Belarus 2 TV Channel.
