Balloons over Bavaria attracts large crowd

FRANKENMUTH — The annual “Balloons over Bavaria” continues Monday in Frankenmuth.

The event started Friday and featured “glow balloons,” and other trips into the Frankenmuth sky.

31 hot air balloons participated in the Memorial Day weekend event.

Organizers expected around 40,000 people to attend over the weekend.

“Oh this is awesome. I’m planning on taking a balloon trip this summer, my bucket list. I’ve been coming here for years and I just think it’s awesome. I can’t even describe it, it just blows my mind,” said Jamie Englehart of Caro.

The event wraps up at 8a.m. Monday.
