Baku, Fineko/abc.az. The III Azerbaijani-Bavarian Business Forum is held in Baku.

Huseyn Pashayev, the Head of the Entrepreneurship Development Policy Department of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Economy and Industry, stated at the opening of the Forum that the Government of the country pays much attention to the economic cooperation with EU countries including Germany.

“German companies take active part in the economy of Azerbaijan. Currently, the large projects are being implemented both in oil and non-oil sectors of the country. We call for the German companies to make investments into the chemical industry and in particular into Sumgait chemical industrial park, as well as into agricultural sector and food industry which are priority sectors”, – Pashayev said.

In his words, Azerbaijan is interested in attraction of Bavarian investments as such cooperation will contribute to introduction of up-to-date technologies and improvement of production quality in the country.

Ulrike Wolf, the Head of the Foreign Economy and Marketing Department of the Ministry of Economy, Mass Media, Energy and Technologies of Bavaria, said that Azerbaijan is the third largest foreign trade partner of Bavaria among CIS countries.

“Currently 36% of businessmen registered in Germany work in Bavaria and 1/3 of German businessmen working in Azerbaijan are from Bavaria”, – Wolf said.
