German club Augsburg have completed the signing of striker’s Shawn Parker and Caiuby ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign.
The Bavaria-based outfit finished last season in eighth position as they just missed out on a qualifying spot for the Europa League in what was an impressive 12 months for the team.
One area that Augsburg did seem to suffer in was the attacking department; the club had one of the worst goal-scoring records as they managed just 47 goals in the Bundesliga.
They certainly seem to be strengthening this area having completed the signings of Parker and Caiuby, though the latter arrives from Ingolstadt for £800,000 after scoring 21 goals in three years, whilst the former joins from Mainz.
Augsburg general manager Stefan Reuter had this to say on the transfers: “We are delighted to have signed a current Germany U21 international forward in Shawn Parker, he will strengthen our team up front as we are sure he is a perfect fit.
“We have monitored the progress of Caiuby for quite some time and we feel confident he will be a boost for our first-team squad.”
