Attention has been focused to increase foreign investment from Germany. Sri Lankan Ambassador Sarath Kongahage had discussions in Munich with state Minister of Bavaria Emily Moor in this regard. The Sri Lankan Ambassador enlightened about the development programme initiated by the government after eradicating terrorism.

He also commended the support extended by Germany to make this programme successful. Minister Emily Moor mentioned that Germany provides its constant support to the effort of the Sri Lankan government to develop war ravaged areas. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan Ambassador met a delegation of investors and businessmen of Munich and Manager of Asian Section of the Trade and Commerce Board of Munich Johannes Huber. Mr. Kongahage pointed out that there are extensive opportunities in Sri Lanka to initiate business ventures due to favourable economic and political condition prevailing in the island. The Ambassador also explained about possibilities to enter tourism industry that is rejuvenating in Sri Lanka.
