Amplus expands broadband in Bavarian community of Blaibach

German operator Amplus has announced a second infrastructure cooperation with the community of Blaibach. As part of the broadband funding programme in rural areas in Lower Bavaria, municipalities are investing in new data highways at speeds of up to 200 Mbps. After the first phase of construction, 536 addresses will benefit from the expansion, 286 of them in the centre of town, as well as in the districts of Kulmberg, Reckendorf, Harras, Kreuzbach, Lernbechermuhle, Pulling, Hetzenberg, Haselstauden, Untergschaidt, Wimbach and Spielberg, where download speeds of up to 30 Mbps will be available.

Amplus is connecting 77 households via FTTH to secure bandwidth of up to 200 Mbps. In addition, the regional operator is replacing the radio link of the existing switches with a direct fibre connection, without the help of the municipality.
