A Town on Hunt for a Lake Turtle

A hunt is on by the safety officials in the region for a lake turtle that severely hurt a swimming boy’s Achilles tendon in Bavaria’s Irsee Lake.

Recent reports coming from the region are talking about a mysterious alligator snapping turtle, which attacked a young boy and severely injured him. Following the attack, the mayor of the Bavarian village has announced a reward of _1,000 for the capture of the lake turtle.

He said that the turtle has bitten and severely injured an eight-year-old boy while he was swimming in the south German lake Irsee.

Doctors have confirmed that the boy emerged with his Achilles tendon severed. They initially assumed that the boy might have stepped on any broken glass, but inspection of the wound has concluded that the boy had been bitten by some unknown predator.

The photographs of the bite have been examined by the officials from the Munich Zoological Institute. They said that the boy’s wounds show that he had been bitten by an alligator snapping turtle, which is a common species of the United States which eats anything that it catches.

Since the turtle is not indigenous to Germany, experts believe that the entire accident happened due to an episode of exotic pet release into the wild.
