A car crashed into a school bus in southern German state of Bavaria on Monday, injuring 18 people, including 16 pupils.
The female driver was driving on State Road 2299 in Karbach, a market community in the Main-Spessart district in Bavaria, when she lost control of the car at a curve. The car went onto the opposite lane and collided with a school bus heading to school, according to the police.
The young woman, who got her driving license just three weeks ago, was seriously injured and had to be flied to hospital, local media reported.
The boys and girls were all in shock after the accident, some of whom suffered bruises. The 49-year-old bus driver was also slightly injured. All students were taken to nearby hospitals. Most of them were able to leave the hospital later.
Three emergency doctors, eleven ambulances and a rescue helicopter have taken part in the rescue work on the spot.
